Spanish villa rental: If you have a site relating to this topic and would like to see it featured here then please email sales@livelistings.co.uk There is such a glut of villas for sale on the Spanish property market that some owners and building companies are turning to the rental market to offset their ever increasing costs. Long and short term villa rental is "in vogue" for the forseable future at any rate and not just for holiday makers either. Spain has a nightmare economy which is equalled in the EU by only Italy and Portugal - all of them being even worse than our own here in the UK. This alone has not helped the sales of apartments, villa property or anything else in the Spanish realm, and to make things worse for the Spanish who no doubt expect the usual stream of Brit tourists this summer of 2009 is the fact that our £ Sterling has collapsed against the Euro which makes a Spanish holiday pretty expensive when you get there. The older ones amongst us have weathered worldwide recessions before now, the last one being in the 1980's, but we are still here and trading as normal so we shall get through this one as well. However much doom and gloom there is about the property sales and rental markets there is always a silver lining to be found somewhere, and in this case it is the better off and generally older people amongst us who will benefit by being able to take long term villa rentals in Spain. Spanish villa rental is not dead yet, but it is seriously floundering.
