Spanish apartment rental: If you have a site relating to this topic and would like to see it featured here please email sales@livelistings.co.uk Rentals of Spanish apartments have flourished during the last 18 months since the property sales market in Spain became a little shaky. Apartments which were previously for sale are now either locked up tight or on the rental market so that owners can at least redeem some of their outgoings such as mortgages via income from rent. How long this situation will last no one knows and nor is anyone brave enough to even make a shrewd guess as the financial situation is in a dire state throughout the world, not just in Spain and the rest of Europe. Seeing masses of obviously unsold, unused apartments is depressing by any standards though wherever they are. However, things are not all doom and gloom as there is always a relatively good take up of apartment rental for the holiday trade and luckily for Spanish owners the holiday season lasts far longer than in France and most other countries, a fact which suits the bulk of the Eu countries which are, of course, in the Euro. Britain of course is not, and so there is the little problem for Brit holidaymakers of the once buoyant £ Sterling being roughly equal to the Monopoly money Euro which is already causing severe problems for the financial markets in Spain, Portugal, Italy and Ireland. Are Brit holidaymakers going to be renting in Spain this summer of 2009? Possibly not as many as will be taking self drive holidays to France where they can cram in a box or two of food from the Homeland for which they won't have to pay inflated prices in Spain. So, will the market for Spanish apartment rentals collapse as well as the the market for sales? Quite possibly, but don't quote me on it
