The ever popular Ford Fiesta is in the lower insurance gropus of 1 to 7 The good old Ford Fiesta has become one of just a handful of household names in the motoring world, which of course doesn't mean that it is the best at all, but over the years it has certainly become one of the most popular and recognisable, being virtually a brand in it's own right, indeed, it is a byword for small cars. It's a great little car, fun, easy to drive and cheap to run. The current Fiesta embodies the same qualities that made it's predecessors so popular but adds attractive looks and more refined engines. Ford Fiesta insurance groups start at group 1 and rise to group 6. Base models which are are group 1 and 2 cars are the cheapest to insure, the rest also being very cheap to insure, whilst the higher specification cars are still in below average insurance groups. Indeed, the Fiesta has been awarded a five star NCAP Adult rating by the European New Car Assessment Programme out of a possible five stars, which means that based on this Euro NCAP rating the Fiesta fares very well in an accident having been given the highest possible result. All the above of course, means that the Fiesta makes an excellent first car for new drivers (as well as more established ones) as the insurance premiums are pretty much as low as you are going to get as you can see from the table below which shows which model Fiesta belongs to which insurance group.
