Holiday homes in the south of France There are a number of chalet-style mobile homes on the superb 4 Star Le PreCatalan site in Barcares, near Perpignan in the South of France just waiting for you to take your holidays in this summer. It is an excellent site with first class facilities including a restaurant, shop which sells fresh bread and pastries every morning,a snack bar and take-away, laundry, library with internet access and a bar with full entertainment programme. A new pool complex has been opened in April 2009 and the site is just a 10 minute walk from wonderful beaches. Very cheap flights are available with Ryanair. Le Pre Catalan is a 4* site just 15 minutes from Perpignan at the beautiful resort of Barcares which is a relatively small site of about 250 holiday homes and which is managed by a French/English couple, so there is no language problem for Brits.  It is a very clean, well maintained site which has a relaxed, family atmosphere. As you would expect of a 4* site in France, the faciltiies are superb.  It is just 10 minutes walk from an eight kilometre long sandy beach with soft white sand,similar to the the neighbouring resorts of Canet, Leucate, Argeles sur Mer and Colliourre.  Of course, you can find other holiday rentals in France; this is the south of the country after all, and one of the premier regions of Europe for camping and mobile home holidays and where the sun seems to shine all the time. Relaxation is the name of the game here, a float in the Med on your sun bed, a dip in the campsite pool, or sit under an umbrella with your family or friends sipping long cool drinks. Pure magic! LePreCatalan site is on the outskirts of the village of Barcares, which has a market day twice a week, as do most of the surrounding villages.  These are great for buying local cheeses, fruit and vegetables. Locally, there are many 'caves' where you can sample locally produced wines such as Muscat and Corbiere and a merchant regularly visits LePreCatalan to hold wine tasting evenings.
