Costa del Sol property for sale: If you have a site relating to this topic and you would like to see it featured here then please email sales@livelistings.co.uk

The Costa del Sol stretches along just over 150 kilometres of Málaga province and is one of Spain's most popular tourist destinations. The area's mild climate is the main attraction which makes it possible to enjoy the beaches and a wide variety of outdoor activities year round. The Costa del Sol has always been an extremely busy location for both holidaymakers and expat Brits looking at property for sale, indeed the number of Brits in the area who luckily escape the UK winters is astounding, but at least they can still pick up their heating allowance from the UK Govt, assuming they are 60 or over.

If you can raise the money then now is the chance of a lifetime for you to pick up a property along the Costa del Sol coast, or even inland if you prefer that, at a massive discount. Property for sale there at the moment is like cars for sale back here in the UK - they are both stacked up with the "for sale" signs on them and with very few interested buyers.

As you may be aware, the problem with buying property at present is not one of not having liquid cash: the problem is that banks are not lending without very good reason as they used to, and the way they now look at property purchase is not through rose tinted spectacles - they believe, rightly or wrongly that the property market has crashed down to a given level already but if the world's financial situation worsens even slightly then property markets around the world could even become worse than they are today. If they lend today they may not be able to recoup their money tomorrow.

So where does that leave property companies and established owners who already have property for sale in the Cosa del Spol, or other areas of Spain for that matter? Sadly the answer must be that many of them are in the soup, big time. People out there in Spain who have only their pensions to get by on are suffering really badly as the £ Sterling has crashed dramatically against the Euro during the last 12 months or so. At the time of writing (Feb 2 2009) the Pound is worth about 1.04 Euros against a high of 1.47 roughly 18 months previously, so of course these property owners are screaming!
