Benidorm, in Spain's Costa Blanca was first settled by the Moors, The Moorish Empire once extending all the way from Africa to northern Spain at that time. Without delving further into the history it remained a small fishing town until the 1950's when it began to be noticed by holiday makers, growing rapidly in the 1960's into the major tourist resort we know today.
There is a wealth of entertainment in Benidorm, great hospitality and superb nightlife. The icing on the cake for the diiscerning holiday maker being the 5 km of gently shelving sandy beaches which are cleaned nightly.
More and more Brits are deciding to buy property in Benidorm, usually an apartment which can be rented when not in use, or more often than not living there year round because of the shorter and much milder winters than back home in the UK. And then there's the golf: stacks of golfing here, enough to make most people consider moving out there and buying an apartment.
