The Alicante area is golfing country with three golf courses within a 15 km of the city. The climate lends itself to year round golfing and that is partly why so many Brits are buying property in that area of the Costa Blanca. The city of Alicante has a population of around 300,000 and a history reaching back to prehistoric times, indeed, there are prehistoric caves to be found near to the town of Buscot around 24 km away. Today though the city is best known as an excellent tourist centre thanks to the miles of superb sandy beaches and surroundings. With it's wealth of public parks and gardens it is an excellent place to find an apartment for sale. The burning question always is: do I go for a new apartment or a resale? There are pros and cons for both arguements because a new apartment will carry a 10 year builder's guarantee - have a look at some other properties they have previously built to see if they have stood the test of time. On the other hand, a resale property should have had any wrongs put right by the time you view it and it may still be covered by the builder's guarantee if it is less than 10 years old. New apartment blocks are springing up all the time, and not just in the Alicante area but all over Spain. It could be that with there may be a glut at some stage which would drive the price of new property downwards, and if that happens there will be a lot of unhappy apartment owners trying to get their money out. |
